Hi there!
Skillstrain has made a big difference, you only have to look at my progress chart to see the difference before this course I was just coasting along waiting for redundancy to strike, for which it did, also thanks to skill train I've kept my sanity.
This year has not been kind to me and my family; it started last Christmas eve 2007 when I had to take my wife to hospital. Little did we know that my wife would need to go and have a big operation in January 2008. Then my son had a car crash and wrote his girlfriends car off and then goto court. He was fined and lost his licence. Then at end of January I had a car crash myself, I was unhurt and walked away from it. This isn't the end of my story just as February started I had a second car crash it wasn't as bad as the first, when my finally come home from hospital just got her in and settled down. And a few days later we had a leak in the bathroom and the ceiling fell down which then got through to the kitchen ceiling and that fell down too.
So we've had all that to deal with. Plus we have a few financial worries but there being dealt with. But this aside I'd like to say a big thank you to all off the staff at skill train. I'm still enjoying the course very much, so a big thank you
-Philip
Hello to all teachers. My studying with skillstrain will make this Christmas better than last year because I am a self employed sole trader mobile gardener, my work is okay in the summer but winter time it goes very quiet. So by doing this course I will be able to have a work system to work alongside my gardening business. The gardening work I enjoy doing and I also enjoy computers so Santa can bring me a qualification to enable me to be a computer engineer, as well as a Percy thrower.

Do I think this Christmas is going to be better than the last one? The answer is yes. Why? You May ask. Well this year I have renewed hope and fresh horizons before me. These past 2 years have not been good to me and my family. In this time I time my father suffered a serious stroke and was in hospital for a number of months. Our youngest daughter was born with heart problems and had to undergo an eight hour lifesaving operation when only a few days old. Thankfully she is doing fine now although she is partially deaf and has trouble gaining weight. Around 6 months ago my partner suffered a miscarriage. Also during this period I was made redundant twice from jobs in the building industry.
Although I am still unemployed I have renewed enthusiasm because through student world I have a goal to aim for. The goal is to get a job where I can give my family the security which they deserve. Then next Christmas will be the best ever.
THANK YOU SKILLSTRAIN
-Robert

First of all I would like to use this opportunity to share my point of view about the whole course and it's going to be my first description after 2 years' time - also, I am going to be pretty concise about it - so it's not going to be much detailed.
So far it's been 2 years since I started the "SkillsTrain" Web Design Management Course - I started it at Christmas time and it's going to be this Christmas that I'm submitting my final TMA. I have taken up this course owing to some ideas that have always been round somewhere in my mind. As a person of a few strong hobbies and a person who's trying always to be objective about the life around us, I always come to conclusion that apart from many wonderful things that humans can create their primary goal of the human existence is technology development. It's pretty easy to notice that technological development has always been an integral part of human living and always will be. So the other day when I was missing something substantial in my future-related plans - Web Designing was an excellent idea. The course helped me much in understanding the evolution of the Web and pretty shaped my current I.T. paths. True, nothing comes easy and before you start any course you need to start with yourself first: Do I have the time or am I systematic...etc. A bit of perseverance is always good 'cuz it is quite worthy to get familiar with the stuff that the "SkillsTrain" offers. So summing up - I tend to study after work a few hours and longer during weekends, if you do it systematically - that's the point. The course impressed me with the really good and concise technical descriptions and vocabulary and the way it is formulated within. Not too easy not too formal - just perfectly written and understandable - credits go for the linguists here. During these 2 years I have not had any problems whatsoever with anything related to it and if in need "Student world" is a quite convenient tool to be in touch with the team. Now the Christmas is coming up again and it's bound to be finished. Nothing less and nothing more. For the ones who are successful at it - the advantage is definitely huge.

Well, Skillstrain's CIW course is currently helping me get through many things.
Firstly, my job isn't the most engaging and the prospects ahead with my knowledge gained get me through each and every week with a smile on my face!
Secondly, they have already helped me out, as two Christmases ago, my Dad's company at which my brother and I were his main staff, went into liquidation. So studying took my mind of the financial disaster that was my life at the time! It was a without doubt my lowest point and my mother had a bit of a breakdown. At least studying something I enjoyed learning about took me away for a few hours a week!
And this Christmas, my course will have to help me again.
Yesterday, my partner got made redundant for the second time in a matter of short months. We are currently saving for our wedding next year and were about to start the shopping for Xmas. It has been put on hold until she finds a job, but having things like my course in my life helps me look at the bright side. Although it is extremely tough at times to see a bright side, or a light at the end of the tunnel, I am so determined to use my skills from my course in the future; it gives me the attitude to say....
It will be alright. Everything will work out. And it will be a brilliant Christmas!!!
Thanks Skillstrain for the course material. I have had times when it has been tough and I have lost track of my course, but now I feel as if I am on a progression path, and I am going to use that to make all my Christmases brilliant!

My motto “one life, live it”
I am working in a printing company that almost closed its doors this time last year. Everyone rolled up sleeves and got out the work and we have successfully turned the company around. I have personally applied this to my own family financial turnaround. I worked additional shifts and took on another job.
Plus a news paper delivery-round every morning for the last year. I managed to successfully avoid going under the hammer, thus being encouraged by my future in studies I will now be able to make more time to continue in my course and achieve my goal of working hard for my own families benefit. All the best to everyone in all your endeavours to excel, never give up!
Thank you
-George
Well where shall I start? I work - I study - and I study again doing this course. With all those duties I'm going away on holiday on a religious pilgrimage and I'm taking my work with me. I'm going to be reading, reading, reading and more reading. I have made enquiries abroad as to whether or not I can access internet at the hotels etc and I can so I will be studying and asking questions and submitting my assignments online from SAUDI ARABIA!! Wish me luck! I just hope I can concentrate from there now. Thanks for reading. So it's a "Christmas" abroad for me with my feet up and a table that has a skills train course book on it (oh and a pen lol).
